BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – A man on probation for killing a raccoon with a machete is now accused of sexual assault.

Nicholas Foti, 21, was arrested in Hawaii on Thursday and will be extradited back to Boulder. Police say he assaulted a 19-year-old woman in her home on the 900 block of 12th Street in Boulder in September.

Police said the assault was not reported right away. They described the attack as follows:

“The victim told police that she was home alone during the early-morning hours of Sept.15, 2012, when Foti and another male entered her residence without her permission, looking for one of the victim’s roommates, with whom Foti was acquainted. The victim says Foti sexually assaulted her when he realized she was by herself. Police believe the other male witnessed the attack. According to the victim, Foti and the other male called her numerous obscenities during the incident. Before leaving the residence, they vandalized the kitchen and smashed a bicycle.”

Last year Foti and three others beat a raccoon to death with a machete because the animal was getting into their trash.

He will be held on a $50,000 bond when he returns to Colorado.
