DENVER (CBS) – Denver police say two men arrested for attempted sexual assault and burglary admitted they tried to break into homes in Park Hill looking for women to sexually assault.

Police arrested Robert Ivy, 41, and David Neff, 26, on Sept. 30 after receiving a call about two suspicious men in a backyard of a home in the 2300 block of Ash.

That person told police two men left in a gold colored Chrysler sedan after being confronted.

When officers were searching the area, they received another call from a home on Cherry Street where a resident said two men tried to enter the home.

An officer spotted the suspects’ car near 36th and Forest about 30 minutes after the first call and stopped it. When police searched the car they found several items including a checkbook belonging to a woman who lives in the Park Hill neighborhood.

That woman identified other items in the car as belonging to her.

In police documents, investigators say the driver of the car, Neff, admitted he and Ivy tried to get into several homes, trying to find a woman home alone they could sexually assault.

In those documents, investigators say Neff also said they had watched a woman showering at the home on Cherry and had to tried to get in but were confronted by a man.

Each man faces five charges, including attempt to commit sexual assault and burglary.
