LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) – A registered sex offender is behind bars and facing charges of assaulting a child at a park in Loveland.
Police arrested John McClure, 52, on Friday night after someone reported that they saw him hiding in the bushes near some railroad tracks.
McClure is accused of molesting a pre-teen at Seven Lakes Park in Loveland Thursday afternoon. The child’s mother told police the assault took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the park located just southeast of Boyd Lake at 1900 Park Drive.
Police used search dogs as they tried to locate the suspect but he got away. Witnesses said they saw the upset child and the suspect running away after the crime.
McClure has an extensive record in several states.
